Guaranteed Govt Jobs For 75% Agniveers After Completing 4 Years Term: Haryana CM Amid Furore Over Agnipath Scheme

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar promised job opportunities in the state to Agniveers who returned after their four-year service in the Army on Tuesday.

New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar guaranteed job chances in the state for Agniveers who return after completing their 4-year term in the Army on Tuesday, thus joining the bandwagon of numerous states that announced rewards to cadets who will be enlisted under the Agnipath scheme.

This comes at a time when demonstrations against the recently announced military recruitment system are erupting across various states including Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Bihar.

Taking to Twitter, Khattar said, "Those (75% of agniveers who would return after 4 yrs of service) who want to get Haryana Govt jobs will be given guaranteed jobs. Those who want can get inducted into any cadre for Group C jobs. Otherwise, we have jobs in Police, which will be given to them."

Previously, in addition to a respectable wage, he had also offered them additional benefits, allowances, and insurance.

States Assures Jobs For Agniveers

In the midst of violent demonstrations over the Centre's Agnipath Scheme, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also guaranteed the youth that if they complete their four-year term successfully, the state government will give them first preference for police and associated forces posts.

Taking to Twitter, CM Adityanath said, "UP government assures that 'Agniveers' post their service will be given priority for accommodation in Police & Police Allied Forces."

Likewise, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a news conference on the Agnipath recruiting initiative on June 16 at Vidhan Sabha.

"Agniveers (75% of Agniveers who would be relieved after 4 years of service from armed forces) would be inducted into Uttarakhand police, Disaster management & Char Dham management of the state," he said.

Agnipath Scheme

The administration introduced the Agnipath scheme on June 14 in a major announcement with multiple objectives: to improve the profile of the armed forces by lowering the average age of soldiers; to provide the forces with motivated youth who have the necessary technological knowledge and are eager to don the uniform.

This manner, after four years of service in the army, the talent may be returned to society. The kids who will be registered in the plan will be known as 'Agniveers,' and the initiative is currently in action.

The chosen individuals will receive six months of training and will be hired for four years. People between the ages of 17.5 and 21 are eligible for the initiative.
